KAGAN STRUCTURES

We have been introducing Kagan Structures into the classrooms to promote cooperative and inclusive learning.  The feedback from the children and staff have been extremely positive.  If you would like to know more about Kagan ask your child's teacher, your child will also be able to tell you about the fun things we have been doing such as 'Rally Robin', 'Round Robin', Sticky Hands', 'Jot Thoughts', 'Showdown' and many others!

Below are some of the things staff and children have said about Kagan!

We get more work done together.

You can get ideas from other people.

I like working together because when someone talks other people have to listen.

You can magpie other people’s ideas.

You work with new people.

We have to communicate with each other.

You learn about each other.

I like using shoulder partners because they can help you with spellings.

I like jot thoughts because you don’t have to wait for team members.

It helps me to understand, and gives me ideas for what to do.

If you get stuck you can ask your partner for help.

I like sticky hands – you figure out more stuff, and it expands your vocabulary in one lesson.

You get to   learn new things from other people.

We share ideas with the whole class.

Some people can’t get ideas that quick so they can borrow other people’s ideas to help them.

We can help each other, it makes people pay attention and join in.

It gives  us the power to say to others “join in”.

Its mixed ability so we can help each other. It   makes people join in more knowing there is some-one there to help them.

It makes   us closer as a class, we mix with others.

We can take charge and organise each other.

It makes us friendlier.

It makes you more confident and you can ask the teacher more and if you feel  embarrassed about asking you can discuss it in the group.

It makes people join in more if there is someone more confident next to them.

It helps the teachers because they learn what you know and what you need to improve.
