Anti-Bullying Week 2016

Corrie took part in Anti-Bullying week organised by the Anti-bullying Alliance with the theme ‘Power for Good.’ The children completed a range of activities including writing raps, designing posters and creating leaflets. We had an assembly where each year group had the opportunity to present their work and the choir sang a song by the artist Jessie J who was bullied as a child. Mrs Satler also held a parent workshop about cyber bullying and Mrs Lynch's class did their class assembly about bullying.

Some pupil quotes about the week:
Rajul from year 1: 'You have to respect everyone even if they're different to you.'
Isabella from year 2: 'I've learnt how to be a good friend.'
Archie from year 3: 'Bullying is when you hurt someone over and over again.'
Blessing from year 4: 'I've learnt that there are lots of different types of bullying like physical, verbal, social and cyber.'
Ellie from year 5: 'We did leaflets to inform people about what bullying is, types of bullying and what to do if you're being bullied or see someone being bullied. If you're being bullied you can stop it by telling a trusted adult in school.'
Chloe from year 6: 'We looked at different scenarios and discussed the bully and victim in each one. We spoke about what we would do. I helped someone today.'
