Welcome Back Year 4R!

Welcome back everyone!  


Hope you’ve all had a wonderful break and are ready for a brilliant, new  and our final half term together in Year 4. We have got a fun filled time ahead of us leading up to the Summer holidays.



This half term we will be continuing to explore the exciting text by Jules Verne called a "Around the World in 80 days". We will be using it as our inspiration to write our own adventure narratives.


Here is a list of the spelling words for Year 3 and 4 that you will need to regularly practice so that you know them all by the end of year 4.

This half term we will be continuing to work on our gaps in our learning, such as multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100, and recognising equivalent fractions and decimals.

Our topic this half term we will be exploring 'Human Nutrition'. We will be learning all about our digestive system and the best methods to care for our teeth!



This half term we will be continuing our new topic called 'Let the Music Play!'. We will exploring be composing our own! 


PSHE – Relationships

This term we will be continuing to explore different patterns of friendships, the meaning of friendship and loyalty and how we can get help and help others in school.


Computing – Producing our own Music!

We will to continue developing our skills to produce our own music using Garage Band.



Swimming has now finished. However, PE will continue to be on a Monday. We will be developing our skills in athletics.




Make sure you don’t get RED on your Assertive Mentoring!



We will continue to have a creative approach to our homework this year. You will be given Maths homework each week as well as being able to choose from a range of creative activities in Topic. 

Homework Sheet - Let the Music Play!

Homework is given out on Friday and is due in the following Wednesday. There are plenty of opportunities to complete your homework including Homework Club.  



Homework handed in on Wednesday is GREEN.

Homework handed in on Thursday or Friday is YELLOW.

Homework that isn't handed in is RED.



We read in class every day, so make sure you always have your Reading Log in school.

Please make sure you also read regularly each week at home and ask an adult to sign your Reading Log for you.



Every time that you read at home you will receive a raffle ticket, so we’ll be asking for your reading log every WEDNESDAY to check you have read at home, so please don’t forget!
